Choosing an estate agent tips

When selling your house you will need to get yourself a estate agent. There so many choices out there that you might feel swamp as to which company will be right for you. Here are some tips for when choosing  the right agent for you.

• A good  start is to asking around, friends and family who have recently moved, ask about which agent they used.

• There many agents that will specialise in selling certain properties. Make sure you pick the right agent for the property you need to sell. there is no point getting an agent with little expertise in knowing how to sell your house.

• Do background checks. Are they quick to response to quiries. A way to check this is to ring them, if there is  a delay in them getting back to you, then this is not  a good sign. A good agent should chase buyers on a regular basis, trying to push the sale.

• Get a short list of possible candidates and ask them to your home to get them to valuate your house. Ask them about the details that they used to come up with the sale figure. Some will give you a high valuation to get you to use them, but make sure that they have done their homework, a good agent should have a list of compared houses in the area.

• Finally, when you are ready to choose the agent that you want. Make sure that they are someone you feel comfortable with, this is because you will have to deal with that agent for the length of the sale of the house, this could mean weeks, even months. And remember if it doesnt feel right, you should always walk away.
